The “youngest” of all mountain chalets in the High Tatras was built under a mountain-peak called Predné Solisko. It is 75 years old and was originally designed to be a relaxation spot nearby the longest ski-lift. In the old days it used to serve partisans, later it became a shelter for cottagers from the Chalet under Rysy. It is located on the southern slope of Predné Solisko at an altitude of 1840 m., and it is accessible by a cable-car. Several minutes ride opens panoramic views of Kriváň, Štrbské pleso and possibly of the Hotel Crocus, on the other side of The Skok waterfall and even Kráľova hoľa in the Low Tatras. Strong dedication, nutritious snack and good quality shoes are just enough to access Solisko by hiking one of the trails.
